FC Bolsover 7 – 2 Harworth Colliery – By Richard Lane

The FC Bolsover juggernaut rolls on in the Black Dragon Badges North Division, with Harworth Colliery the latest victims. Harworth took an early lead with James Woodward putting them ahead in the first minute, but Daniel Russell soon squared the scores. Greg Archer’s penalty again put the visitors in front but two from Josh Parfitt gave Bolsover an interval lead.

The second half saw the runaway leaders add four more, Russell completing his hat trick with Josh Thomas and Adam Kimberley also hitting the target. Clay Cross Town lie in second place after an 8-0 defeat of a young Welbeck Lions outfit. There was a hat trick for player-manager Ant Lynam, with two apiece for Callum Lytham and Lee Clay, and one from Ryan Bates.

AFC Bentley hit the top three for the first time as they took their points haul to 22 from the last 24, beating Dinnington Town 3-1. All the goals came in a seven minute spell in the middle of the first half. Brad Maddison put Bentley ahead in 22 minutes, Will Morris equalising from the spot two minutes later, Rod Pursehouse and Joe Byron’s goals shortly afterwards ensuring the points stayed with the home side.

Newark Town came from behind three times to earn a point in a closely contested match at Retford. Jason Swannack, on his 50th appearance, put Retford ahead on 24 minutes, Chris Dobbie making it one all on the half hour before Will Tomlinson again gave the home side the advantage on the stroke of half time. Tyler Martin put Newark level just after the hour mark, but sub Aaron Blakey again gave Retford the lead before George Pearce clinched a point for Town.

Collingham put a run of three home defeats behind them as they saw off Phoenix 5-1 at Station Road. Jack Wilkinson and Luke Clifford scored for the hosts in the first half, Derek Mounsey pulling one back for Phoenix. A Dominic Agnew double and one from Craig Bridge gave Collingham a comfortable three points.

Staveley Miners Welfare 3 – 3 Handsworth Parramore – By Martin Green

The Trojans first Saturday home game brought a record 212 crowd for the season against local rivals Handsworth Parramore and it was a game that lived up to the expected fierce encounter. The game started at a incredible pace with Aaron Moxam netting twice in the first 10 minutes, the Trojans defence had no match for the runs of Joe Thornton and Daniel Buttle down the wings. Callum Mawbey pulled 1 back after 22 minutes to steady the nerves of a game that looked very much like a trashing for the Trojans was on the cards. On 34 minutes Jon Foggatt made it 3 -1, but the game was now end to end. Half time came with the Trojans having a lot of questions to be asked. Brett Marshall, the Trojans Manager answered them. The defence was now solid and it was Handsworth that were struggling. The pressure from the Trojans eventually paid off with a wonderful goal on 71 minutes by new boy Joshua Schofield. 11 minutes later Callum Mawbey grabbed his second and the equalizer. The Trojans continued to put the pressure on the Handsworth defence, but they held out until the full time whistle. Joshua Schofield was sent off just after his goal for what the referee deemed a red card offence. Having looked at the video footage, the Trojans have appealed against the red card on a decision by the ref that is most definitely wrong.

The Trojans are at home to Worksop tonight (Wednesday 18th) and away at Liversedge on Saturday.
