ALFRETON TOWN V CHESTERFIELD FC 16 JULY 2024

The Spireites went 1-0 down at half time after going behind to a 20 yard strike from one of the Alfreton trialists. Ryan Boot maybe will be disappointed he was beat from there. But the initial mistake from Tyrone Williams, let the striker in.

Second half goals from James Berry (who looked frustrated at times) and Tom Naylor from a corner, saw the Spireites run out as 2-1 winners.

Kane Drummond looked a handful at times, Jamie Grimes came off as a precaution after feeling a tight calf.

The trialist at right back looked very interesting and should he gain match fitness, who knows?

Nice to see us hit the target and win after 2 friendlies that saw defeat at Causeway Lane and the 3-0 defeat at home to Forest.
