SPIREITES prove a handful for CREWE
Well Well Well Well Well 1 for every goal!
First away game in the EFL saw the Spireites put 5 five past a hapless Crewe side that haven’t started the season well after being last season’s beaten play-off finalists.
Maybe suffering a hangover as some teams do?
Paul Cook made 3 changes as the injury list has grown.
Dilan Mandakay on loan from Blackburn and Grigg and Banks started.
If you blinked at the start, you missed the first goal, as Berry outrageously shot over the keeper from 25 yards. Still didn’t see what was to come after that.
The Spireites were 4 up in 28 minutes with goals from Grigg, Berry again (with an assist from Grigg), and Naylor as the Alex fans were already on their way home.
Crewe boss Rob Lee made 3 changes before half time in an effort to shore things up somewhat.
Dobra (his third of the season already) made it 5 goals at 49 minutes: it could have been more had it not been for the home keeper.
Liam Jessop made his Spireite debut and came on for Vontae. Defender Harvey Araujo came on for Berry after coming on loan from Fulham.
Very impressive performance from the injury hit Spireites (9 in total). And the 1100 (no idea where they got that total from in honesty) visiting fans had a terrific day out.
